Issaquah Man Mohamed Alhethail Killed in Deadly Seattle Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 and I-90
Seattle, Washington (March 12, 2018) – The Washington State Police have released the name of the 25-year-old man killed in a two-vehicle crash caused by a wrong-way driver early Sunday morning in Seattle.
Mohamed S. Alhethail died in the crash that took place at around 3 a.m. on the ramp from southbound Interstate 5 to eastbound Interstate 90.
Police said Alexander S. Chung, 20, of Mercer Island was driving a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek in the wrong-way on the ramp when he collided head-on with a 1995 Honda Accord Wagon, driven by Alhethail.
Alhethail, a resident of Issaquah, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Chung sustained serious injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Troopers said Chung was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
WSP is investigating the crash and said alcohol might have been a factor.
