Officer Injured in Belfair Car Accident on Route 3 near Milepost 28
Belfair, Washington (April 15, 2018) – A Mason County sheriff’s deputy was injured in a car accident in Belfair on Saturday morning.
The collision was reported at about 9:20 a.m. on Route 3 near milepost 28.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the deputy’s 2016 Ford Explorer was parked on the southbound shoulder of Route 3. The officer then attempted to make a U-turn when it was struck by a southbound Jeep Cherokee.
The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
The driver of the Jeep, a 63-year-old Monroe woman, was unhurt.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
